Billing Specialist

Summary
This  position will be responsible for processing billing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.  The position will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of account adjustments, order adjustments, and general account maintenance.  This position will work with all markets to identify and resolve issues with agencies and advertisers through submissions received via our  workflow portal. In addition, the position will perform account analysis to identify and resolve billing issues including the production of accurate memo bills. The position will also require cross training in other areas of the payments, credit and collections process.

Responsibilities 
  • Balances and reconciles billing data
  • Detects billing issues, initiates corrective action, and resolves problems with customer billings with minimal supervision
  • Identifies, obtains the appropriate approval, and processes customer adjustments
  • Reconciles any discrepancies found in billing processing
  • Analyze, and review accounts in order to create memo bills that accurately reflect customer balances
  • Maintains and organizes all pertinent back up information to substantiate billing transactions as necessary
  • Provides feedback to management concerning potential problems and makes recommendations for areas of improvement.
  • Provides ongoing training and support to market staff.
  • Works with other departments (sales, credit, payment application, business system support analyst) to resolve billing issues and assist with collection, payment, rating or contract issues
  • Works directly with customers to resolve billing issues
  • Ability to assist with other ARM functions as needed
  • Participate in process improvement projects, and support other management directives as prescribed

Job Qualifications
  • Detail oriented and able to independently manage multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy
  • Above average analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office products including expertise with Excel and Adobe PDF Editor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with both strong business oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven, team oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Expertise of billing systems and credit related functions and operations
  • Ability to learn new systems and functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in resolving complex issues and developing solutions acceptable to both management and the client.
  • Capable of exceeding goals with minimal supervision and good business judgment.
  • Some college preferred
