Job Description


A BA/QA Test Analyst possesses an in-depth understanding of the business domain and customer needs to define new software requirements, yet also has technical expertise in testing, writing test cases and using testing automation software.

Position/Project Specific Requirements:
  • Defining scope of projects based on gathered Business Requirements including documentation of constraints, assumptions, business impacts & project risks.
  • Prefer BA/BS in computer science, business, math, or a related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in a client-facing software implementation/delivery role.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Business or Product Analyst in writing use cases, business requirements, functional and technical requirements.
  • Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) product develop or business analysis experience a plus.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Analyst or User Acceptance Tester in writing test cases, test steps.
  • Must have experience in performing functional testing and user acceptance testing.
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing HP ALM and JIRA
  • 2+ years testing data/data transformation/data movement (ETL)
  • Experience and in depth knowledge of Agile Testing Methodologies.
  • Lean/Agile methodology experience
  • 2+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case/test data management

Other Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop business cases assessing requests, risk level and prioritizing
  • Negotiation skills to arbitrate different points of view
  • Experience writing requirements and manage others driving requirements through the full SDLC.
  • Strong technical skills using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Developer or similar, NOSQL
  • Technical understanding of databases, flow diagrams, some ability to read code and scripts
  • Ability to guide the user in identifying business requirements, analysis, specification, and the ability to apply them in practice for implementing solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences
  • Prefer ETL experience
  • Prefer automation experience
  • Experience with EDI testing a plus
  • Firm understanding of EDI workflows a plus
  • Prefer Lean/Agile methodology experience
  • Prefer candidates with Green Cards or US citizenship
  • Prefer Strong Leadership Skills

Essential Job Functions:
  • Work closely with the QA Lead and business team to collect and interpret requirements, define Acceptance Criteria, and highlight risks within the requirements.
  • Conduct QA testing of user interface(s), business rules and forms
  • Collaborate with the Implementation Team and other supporting teams to ensure strong configuration quality controls are adhered to
  • Accountable for creating, reviewing, and updating documents and procedures in Box, Jira and ALM throughout the project lifecycle
  • Produce detailed configuration specifications based on business requirements and update requirements and testing steps in both ALM and JIRA.
  • Understand end-user work flows and user experiences in order to develop clear, concise and testable requirements for the testing team.
  • Work within an Agile methodology
  • Effectively capturing business requirements to write the user stories within Jira, tying them to test scripts within HP ALM
  • Writing the acceptance criteria in the Business Design Document (BDD) orientation of business language
  • Validate through testing that the code meets specific business acceptance criteria
  • Communicating effectively with developers on explanation of user stories and validating the end implementation of the requirements
  • Communicating with product managers on product roadmap, backlog grooming (in Jira).
  • Communicating effectively with business stakeholders to acquire user feedback and refine requirements through the SDLC process
