Solution Designer - IT Infrasturcture Projects

Job Overview

This position includes supporting our clients locations in the America’ s incl. USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina based on strong network and collaboration with the counterparts in Europe. This position is responsible for the plan, control, design, development and implementation of all IT Infrastructure projects in the NDC.  

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and consulting for NDC customers in complex application/system projects focusing on system architecture and IT operations requirements.
  • Support application owner in terms of IT hardware/cloud selection fitting the project requirements and being cost efficient. Identify and define capacity requirements and estimate the operations costs for the IT infrastructure solution.
  • Create IT concepts covering hardware/cloud infrastructure, network, operating system, application frameworks/engines and database for complex systems 
  • Initiate, support and control evaluation projects to implement new technologies, architectures and solutions in the data center and ensure their enablement for standard operations. 
  • Define new IT infrastructure operation standards and methods for application infrastructures.
  • Lead the implementation and build of high sophisticated IT infrastructures.  Create project structures, define work packages in detail, develop, coordinate and control timelines, milestones, budget plans throughout the entire project lifecycle including all required communications to the NDC customer and the NDC staff and management.
  • Ensure the project goals and targets are reached in time and in budget.
  • Coordinate and control the build of complex infrastructures in the data center including all interfaces. Collaborate with external contractors, create and maintain all related documentation, prepare and run the quality gate sessions

Education
  • bachelors degree in Computer/Information Science/Information Technology/Management Information System (MIS)

Licenses/Certifications
  • Project Management Certifications, i.e. PMP or Prince2, preferred

Must have 5 + years (total) of experience in the following:
  • Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure:
    • 3-Tiered Architecture
    • Network (TCP/IP, Firewall concepts)
    • OS concepts: Linux, AIX, Windows Server
    • Storage (SAN, NAS)
    • Cloud concepts (AWS, Azure)
    • Administration Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures.
    • Business - General Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts 
    • Finance Knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information.
    • Processing Knowledge of processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
    • Purchasing Knowledge of acquisition techniques that minimize costs for products or services
    • Quality Assurance Knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability.
3+ years of experience in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure) managing implementations and operational tasks ? 2+ years of experience in a DevOps organization working with DevOps engineers managing infrastructure as code and configuration management 1+ year of experience with:
  • Containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Scrum processes and agile frameworks
  • Scrum Master Certification Preferred
