Sr. Business Analyst – Performance Marketing

About the role

Our client is looking to add a Business Analyst dedicated to their Marketing team, to help  understand marketing performance and drive profitable growth of established and new vacation brands. You’ ll design and automate recurring reports and complete ad hoc deep-dive analyses to inform the actions of our digital marketing team. You’ ll notice anomalies in performance and help us address them and learn from them. You’ ll have exposure to our marketing activities across all marketing channels and help us to spend marketing dollars efficiently.


Your future responsibilities:
  • Create, automate and maintain ongoing performance reporting for all marketing channels, including SEM, SEO, Direct, Email, Social, Digital TV and Radio, etc.
  • Conduct ad hoc root cause analyses to identify underlying causes driving business performance variances
  • Design and automate new reporting and anomaly detection processes
  • Write automation scripts to seamlessly pull and combine data from multiple sources, including databases, marketing platforms, emails, local and shared documents
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all data is tagged properly and flowing across digital marketing platforms and databases
  • Required experience:
  • Significant experience understanding, managing, combining and analyzing complex data from disparate sources
  • Demonstrated experience developing, enhancing and automating complex performance reporting
  • Experience with ad hoc performance analytics and deep dive analyses within a digital marketing context, preferably in travel/hospitality, e-commerce or retail environment
  • Experience with Google Analytics, AdWords, Facebook Ads Manager, Responsys and other digital marketing platforms strongly preferred
  • Experience with marketing automation and business intelligence/data visualization tools preferred
  • Proven ability and initiative to identify and learn new tools and methodologies


Desired qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in analytical field required, Master’ s degree appreciated
  • Several years of marketing or business analytics experience in fast-paced e-commerce or retail environment or within a digital marketing agency
  • Expert knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL; hands-on experience with advanced analytics in R or Python preferred
  • Comfort with relational databases including data extraction and manipulation
  • Strong grasp of mathematical concepts and statistical methodologies
  • Strong ability and passion for translating analytics results into business insights
  • Ability to generate creative solutions and think outside the box
  • Fast learner, with enthusiasm and ability for acquiring new technical and analytical skills and tools as needed
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills (externally and internally at all levels)
