Sr Product Owner

 

Summary:

The Product Manager is the subject matter expert, providing the customer’ s perspective of the solutions needed in their domain. This person is responsible for both defining product direction and prioritizing the backlog so that the solution meets program priorities.  The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the product vision, roadmap, marketing and the backlog are all in alignment. The PM works daily with a team of engineers, QA and an agile lead to construct innovative software solutions.

 

  Responsibilities:
  • Develop domain expertise and form product points of view to drive product innovation and development efforts.
  • Elicit software requirements from dealer clients by interview and market analysis; interpret and define " need" vs " want".
  • Drive innovation by translating thoughts and ideas into tangible product requirements in the form of features, epics and user stories.
  • Manage, adjust for risk, and prioritize product backlog.
  • Communicate with engineering team to ensure accuracy and understanding.
  • Review and accept completed stories with a focus on product quality.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during pilot and beta release, refining or redefining requirements as needed.
  • Consistently manage stakeholder expectations with clear communication on status of bugs, enhancement requests and a regular demonstration of new or changed functionality
  • Serve as the customer proxy working with Product Directors to ensure that the team backlog is aligned with the program priorities.
  • Work closely with engineering technical leadership to ensure key architectural roadmap items are woven into the product backlog.
  • Support the release planning and iteration planning exercises by actively participating in iteration planning, including the coordination of content dependencies with other PO’ s.
  • Actively participate in formulating a detailed and comprehensive release plan, including go to market and operational readiness activities.

 

Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ Years of product management and/or development experience, preferably in new product development
  • Experience in Software - as - a - Service (SaaS), Business - to - Business (B2B) product and service development
  • Strong analytical and cross-functional product development background
  • Must be comfortable with conveying the value of new and emerging products, technologies or applications to senior management and across a diverse product team
  • Agile Product Development, Launch and Lifecycle management experience
  • Previous experience leading a cross-functional organization in executing projects from ideation to completion
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing business environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong initiative and ability to drive projects to completion with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail
