Job Description


Senior Project Managers direct, manage, plan and administer the operational and administrative activities of Information Technology and Business project teams which are assigned to a related set of medium, large and more complex projects, following the defined processes of the Program Management Office (PMO). Senior project managers will manage and lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives and are typically assigned to large-scale, high impact projects with moderate to high risk and complexity. Senior project managers direct the daily activities of team members on multiple projects to ensure they provide high quality and cost effective services. Senior project managers also support the design and development of new approaches to project management, including Agile.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for delivering large, complex and technical projects on time, on budget, and meeting functional and quality specifications following the defined processes of the Program Management Office (PMO)
- Manage and direct all phases of the project life cycle for large-scale, complex initiatives that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders; also may be managing multiple small-medium- large projects concurrently
- Forecasts, manages, and reports on project financials, planned vs actual project schedule, and resource utilization
- Manages issues, risks, and changes using appropriate and agreed upon processes and tools established within the PMO framework and project methodology compliance standards set by the company
- Partner with business sponsors, often including executive leadership, to define success metrics and criteria
- Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan and related project management artifacts
- Analyze prior projects to determine resource requirements, timeline and likely outcomes for similar project initiatives
- Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
- Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan. Analyze time and cost variances against plan and communicate project status and issues to the PMO and other stakeholders, including executive leadership. Communicate delays in critical path tasks appropriately
- Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
- Assess and provide risk identification, mitigation or risk avoidance strategies and other solutions for on-time project delivery. Resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
- Serve as a subject matter expert and continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status. Periodically publish project status reports and routinely briefing key stakeholders, including executive leadership, on different aspects of assigned initiatives
- Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
- Assist, share learning, and mentor others within the PMO regarding standards, organizational understanding and relationship building to promote the successful delivery of projects

Requirements:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing Information Technology and Business project teams
- Ability to follow all company policies and procedures, including the PMO Framework to ensure consistency in project management
- Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace and execute with limited information and ambiguity
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a highly matrixed global organization effectively
- Ability to lead a globally distributed team through successful project implementations on time and within budget
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to all project stakeholders, including executive leadership with clarity and precision and manage customers’ expectations
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations, and proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
- Must be self-disciplined, goal oriented, action focused and organized, with excellent project planning, team motivation, delegation, interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
- Ability to quickly build rapport and strong relationships with others, at a global level
- Ability to establish a wide and effective peer network across the organization, world wide
- Sound business and technical acumen
- Experience leading systems integration projects that span multiple departments or divisions
Education
- A minimum of a Bachelor’ s degree in a relevant discipline required
- 3-6 years of project management experience in managing projects
- Project Management Professional certification or Project Management Certificate Desirable
Experience Required
- Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects with teams distributed around the world
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools
- Experienced in working with stakeholders and executive leadership to manage their expectations and engaging them to address critical project decisions
- Manage career growth by completing appropriate continuing education courses to remain abreast of changing technologies and project management tools and techniques
Desirable Experience (not required)
- Two to four years of supervisory experience (preferred)
- Experience with project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, Scrum and/or Scaled Agile Framework
- Project Basic knowledge of Electronic Payments industry, products and technologies to intelligently discuss and understand relevant impacts to the projects is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, Doc, Sites)
