Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and driving project management discipline, related processes reengineering and communication strategy for projects/initiatives across the firm. The position will directly manage multiple projects/initiatives as needed, including: planning, plan development, coordination of project team deliverables, facilitating project governance, managing issues, mitigating risks, status reporting, tracking KPIs, and executing project tasks. The position works in partnership with the firm senior leaders and team members to coordinate the planning, deployment and monitoring of the firm’s supported projects /initiatives. The position will also be responsible for facilitating consensus across multiple stakeholders and delivering high impact project/initiative outcomes.

  • Partners with the firm senior leaders and team members to manage a project/ initiative through all aspects of the project lifecycle, such as project planning, analysis, development, change control, and deployment
  • Defines, maintains and applies project management tools and frameworks (i.e., methodology, process and templates)
  • Monitors projects to ensure projects/initiatives are on track to meet the defined strategic goals and objectives
  • Works with project team to prioritize project/initiative activities
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans using standard tools
  • Defines project concept, charter, scope, tasks, assignments, dependencies, and target dates
  • Collaborates with the firm senior leaders and team members to determine and secure needed resources for each project. Acts as an advisor to project teams on how to best prepare, package and message their deliverables to ensure adoption and deployment
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of project/Initiative budgets

Other tasks and duties as needed to support the team and/or business

  • Minimum 5 years project leadership experience as a Project Manager
  • Comprehensive understanding of process improvement methodologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge with problem solving methodologies, root cause analysis
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Project management training/certification, such as PMP preferred

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), a plus, but not required

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in software development life cycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile/Scrum
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Demonstration of ongoing satisfaction of customer needs resulting in early adoption of prescribed risk mitigation/performance improvement strategies
  • Strong project management skills (develop project charter and scope, develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, track progress, etc.)
