Business Analyst

Job Summary

The Business Analyst will work in our product management function to help translate complex business requirements and business input into workable technology solutions. The business analyst will work closely with our customers,  users; product management team, and engineering team to ensure that the business requirements and designs have been well documented and communicated clearly to the various team members on the development team. In addition, the Business Analyst will work with product management to maintain the prioritized set of requested customer features, enhancements, and new offerings on our product roadmap. The Business Analyst will actively participate with customers in product reviews, demos, design sessions,  and product planning sessions.

What You’ ll Do
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in all discussions around customer features, enhancements, and new offerings - possess and articulate an in-depth knowledge of goals and desired objectives from the customer’ s viewpoint. Act as product steward and client advocate in all work related to the product
  • Work with stakeholders to solicit and document user stories and other product requirement documentation for use by engineering and development teams
  • Produce user stories, workflows, prototypes, designs, data maps, and/or process maps to document the functionality and operation of all features, enhancements and new offerings for our engineering and development teams.
  • Works with engineers to identify non-functional requirements such as infrastructure, regulatory, or legal requirements 
  • Maintain internal and external user-facing product documentation as required
  • Actively participate in planning activities for all software development functions including development, testing, release, and acceptance work
  • Work with the Product Manager to maintain the product roadmap and help determine when and in what sequence features should be developed and released to customers
  • Work with Quality Assurance team member(s) to identify test cases for automated testing
  • Coordinate with business customers to conduct product integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures around the software development life cycle and the agile processes

  • Bachelor’ s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, information technology or systems analysis
  • Experience working with enterprise software products and complex business processes
  • Demonstrated aptitude for gathering and documenting business requirements, working with stakeholders to review requirements and reviewing technology designs to confirm that business requirements coded correctly
  • Experience working with an agile development organization, preferred but not required
  • Experience working with a geographically disbursed team, especially offshore resources
  • Experience in the airline and travel verticals is a bonus but not required
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with varying priorities
