Compensation Analyst

Participates in the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs and compensation related project work.


  • Maintains and analyzes ongoing compensation programs; evaluates jobs using market data and established evaluation systems and/or procedures; audits evaluation of jobs; ensures compliance with all legal aspects of the compensation function
  • Performs market analyses and job evaluations following an assigned methodology across the enterprise for broadbase roles.
  • Assists with yearly updates to enterprise systems such as the market evaluation system
  • Maintains enterprise portfolio for compensation surveys; preparation and analysis
  • May counsel leaders regarding the development of job summaries and/or descriptions
  • Administer performance recognition award programs; monitor effectiveness of programs; recommends changes as necessary
  • Assists in the administration of merit & equity programs; reviews proposed changes in pay for conformance to policy; prepares analysis in support of establishing merit budgets
  • Produces reports and analyzes compensation data to support client deliverables such as merit budget, salary structure management, and incentive plan data.
  • Partners with HRIS as needed to acquire data or resolve data issues.
  • Submits, tracks, and communicates the creation of job codes or changes to job attributes.
  • Prepares special studies and recommendations on subjects such as base pay delivery, incentive compensation, and performance management
  • Document report requirements and develop reporting in designated databases
  • Provides recommendations for enterprise level operational efficiencies and process improvements and assists in policy development to support change initiatives
  • Provides and presents recommendations to department leadership


  • 2 or more years of experience preferred in related field (i.e. Compensation, Human Resources)
  • 1 or more years of direct compensation analysis experience
  • Requires demonstrated intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong quantitative reasoning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Human Resources, Business, Mathematics, etc.). (Preferred)
  • CCP (Preferred)
  • Has 2 years compensation and analytical experience
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups and other advanced functions)
  • Good operating knowledge of Word and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HR (or similar HRIS system) a plus
