Job Description

Data Architect 

You are responsible for the data integration and solution design for ingesting data from various sources to the enterprise data hub from the various existing legacy systems. You will also partner with the development, delivery and product teams to provide the solution architecture and SME expertise for the releases planned for the application. In short, you will be a valuable technical resource supporting the data strategy.

• You are accountable for leading or supporting architecture activities that create work that guide business models, people, process, organizational change, and technology investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted outcomes. 
• You' re responsible for Kafka messaging technology to enable our organization' s future-state business capabilities, which can enable or alter business processes or practices that, in turn, drive the organization' s targeted business outcomes. 
• You will contribute in an agile environment with a highly talented business intelligence team, delivering software solutions. 

• 5 or more years’ experience in information technology with background in software engineering, development and/or performance analysis required (focus in messaging framework preferred) 
• Experience as software engineer/Architect with some background in Kafka messaging required 
• Experience in deployment and management of Kafka message broker framework required 
• Experience in analyzing the functional and non-functional aspects of Kafka in support of optimization and improvement of overall system efficiency required 
• Experience in supporting troubleshooting and problem resolution of Kafka and related systems supporting enterprise messaging required 
• Experience in reviewing Kafka specific metrics and key performance indicators for monitoring and performance management required 
• Experience with developing monitoring approaches and strategies for Kafka including reporting. 

• Highly competent with Spark (Scala) and structured query language (SQL) preferred 
• Experience with Cloudera/Hortonworks preferred 
• Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks 
• Knowledge of Debit and Credit systems such as HP Non-Stop and Vision Plus. 
• Knowledge of standard methodologies through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures and data warehousing. 
• Bachelor’ s Degree Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
