Our client in Addison is looking to add a Director, Data & Analytics to their growing team. In this role you will be responsible for building high-performance data & analytics delivery teams and managing data engineers, as well as future data analysts and data scientists. You will build and scale practical data applications and work closely with our Data and Enterprise Architects on solution design. This role will have a proven track record of building high performing teams and data platforms leveraging modern architectural concepts and development practices. In this role, you will lead delivery of secure and scalable data & analytics solutions that advances our enterprise data platform.


A successful Director, Data & Analytics will:
  • Enjoy being part of an emerging area within the organization, be comfortable with ambiguity, and take pride in their ability to craft the “ how” for the company’ s enterprise data & analytics platform
  • Work closely with the Product, Architecture and the Executive Team to mold the team’ s vision
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor exceptional data engineers, analysts and data scientists
  • Directly manage, coach and guide team members to thrive as part of high performing agile teams
  • Be well-versed in modern cloud-first data management, data modeling, data architecture, data infrastructure, and data storage concepts
  • Have experience standing up, maintaining, and supporting data infrastructure to support operational data stores, data warehouses, and business intelligence (BI) stacks and advanced analytics / machine-learning (ML) tooling
  • Work closely with product management, architecture, and security teams to define technical requirements, establish data governance, guide architectural vision, and prioritize efforts
  • Support and evangelize data-driven continuous improvement through experimentation, testing and quantitative measurement


  • Bachelor’ s or Master’ s degree in Computer Science, Math, MIS, Information Technology, Business or related field; OR seven to ten years related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven leadership ability with demonstrated experience in building and leading data & analytics engineering teams
  • Experience building and deploying cloud based data infrastructure on Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • 5-7 years’ experience in an e-commerce transactional environment
  • Proficiency in SQL and analytical tools
  • Experience managing large, cross-functional projects
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience supporting large scale analytical platforms
  • Experience in the travel tech industry
  • Experience with Lean/Agile development methodologies
  • Must be a strong communicator and be able to adjust altitude and depth of conversation to the audience, and be able to effectively communicate with both senior executives, business stakeholders, peers, and delivery team members alike
  • Must be able to handle conflicting prioritizes involving multiple stakeholders, and rationalize and prioritize business objectives and initiatives using data
  • Must be an independent thinker and bring intellectual horsepower and original thoughts to the table
  • Must embrace the scientific method, find data-driven methods and problem solving “ second nature”, and leverage quantitative analysis in all aspects of the role
