Job Summary: 

The Enterprise Automation Team Lead will be responsible to design, develop and maintain service automation processes for the Global IT organization. They will work directly with multiple owners of IT services including Infrastructure, NOC, SecOps, ITSM DevOps teams, and Application development teams. This individual will work with members of the Client’ s ITSM team, leaders, internal business customers, external vendors and managed service providers on a daily basis. They lead and create a team within the Global IT Organization based in the Coppell HQ office. This role will be required to have a technical background with scripting, development languages and hand on experience with integrating multiple systems automation toolsets. The individual will need to gather requirements as part of the teams Intake process and work with service owners to enable designs based on process automation requirements. The individual will have responsibilities to design, demo, test, document, and deploy automation releases needed to support the global IT organization. The role will also require strong technical knowledge of the ServiceNow CMDB, workflow flow designer, advanced discovery, orchestration and other ServiceNow modules as part of their daily responsibilities. This is a leadership position that also owns the responsibility of establishing the Enterprise Automation processes and standards. In addition to ServiceNow, the role will be required to understand how to automate using other tools and platforms like Puppet, Chef, RPA tools, DevOps tools and multiple programming languages. This leader will report to the Global Sr. Director of ESM.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Lead and developer with proven automation experience
  • Governance of Enterprise Automation processes, standards and execution
  • Partner with Infrastructure, development, DevOps and Operations teams across the Client Globally
  • Set expectations on how a process should be automated, monitored, managed and measured for consistency across process areas
  • Product and process ownership for the CMDB
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Test implemented designs and automation workflows
  • Build, script and test automation tools
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve automation
  • Manage and assess automation value that is realized
  • Shift Left reviews with service and process owners to identify opportunities to leverage automation
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improvement development and automation delivery
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of assigned projects
  • Manage CI, CD and tools required to provide automation
  • Manage ServiceNow process standards for workflows, discovery, advanced discovery, service mapping and service orchestration
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development
  • Maintain execution knowledge for common scripting languages, common development code bases and industry standard automation tool sets

Minimum Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of scripting and development code writing
  • 7+ years working in a large enterprise environment
  • 5+ years working with ServiceNow CMDB
  • 5+ years working with Agile development methodologies
  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • 5+ years automating datacenters, cloud environments, business processes and workflows
  • 5+ years working with DevOps tools and IT systems automation tools
  • 5+ years of experience with process analysis and process design

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ServiceNow Development
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, Advanced Mapping, Orchestration and Workflows
  • ServiceNow admin/developer certification highly desired
  • ServiceNow Integration Hub Experience highly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM, Alert management, event management and other IT management and automation applications
  • Experience with using scripting languages, process automation tools and development languages to deliver highly automated business processes
  • Experience with Java, Angular J, Shell Scripts, Python, VB Script, Power Shell, Batch Scripting, .Net, Perl, Ruby, HTML, etc…
  • Experience working with Windows, Linux/Unix, Desktops, Databases and other infrastructure operating systems
