Job Overview

The IT Master Data Leader is responsible for the global delivery of all IT services that support and enable the life cycle management of master data which supports delivery of strategic imperatives that drive reliable and cost-effective business performance. This position is accountable for establishing a strong collaborative partnership with business master data management leads around the world, including procurement, customer service, manufacturing, and finance and accounting domains. This position will be responsible for shaping data strategy through the effective use of IT and maximizing the  investment in standard SAP solutions. This individual will be expected to drive the increased use of industry wide master data management best practices and harmonized business processes. Additional responsibilities include executing all projects within approved timelines and budgets, delivering the expected business outcomes, building and maintaining a high performing master data team, managing and developing talent, and creating a culture based upon shared accountability, agility and driving strategic business.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Drive and improve master data management performance through adoption of best practices and harmonized business processes
  • Develop and publish metrics on the overall quality of our master data, particularly vendor, customer, and product. Working with key stakeholders, drive improvements in the quality of our master data to ensure information is accurate and reliable
  • Work with project teams as new applications and systems are implemented to ensure the integrity and appropriate usage of master data across the applications portfolio
  • Maximize investments made in core ERP (SAP) and shape future blueprints (business capabilities) in master data management applications and toolsets


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’ s degree in related field (Finance, Information Systems, Supply Chain); an MBA is a plus. Strong preference for Health Care, Medical Device, or regulated industry experience
  • 1zero+ years information technology/master data management experience
  • 5+ years leading a master data team
  • Deep understanding of master data management tools from SAP and other providers
  • Ability to organize and guide technical projects, teams, and external vendors
  • Strong problem solving and process improvement skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to interact at the highest levels of the company
  • Certifications such as those in Six Sigma a plus
  • Business case development, cost/benefit analysis
  • Clearly communicates with project teams, finance, accounting, supply chain, and order to cash functions
  • Excellent communication skills to develop strong business partnerships, team management, mentoring, and team
