Manager of Cloud Hosting Services

Responsibilities
  • As part of the Cloud leadership team, drive the company’ s transformation to cloud
  • Manage a team of cloud engineers and architects
  • Develop and retain senior engineering leaders. Guide the development of staff members, including setting objectives, coaching, delivering reviews, and advising management on compensation
  • Design, build and deliver a highly scalable public cloud presence
  • Enhance performance throughout the infrastructure automation framework. Implement tooling to optimize performance, availability and costs
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, automate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possible.
  • Build and foster a high performance culture, mentor team members and provide your team with the tools and guidance to make things happen
  • Create deployment strategies for existing and new services based on business objectives
  • Foster collaborative partnerships across functional organizations
  • Continually review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Participate in the transformation of existing environments into high performing technology solutions.
  • Serves as primary/first escalation point for platform support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems
  • Review technical designs to validate appropriate use of technology, and ensure our systems enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Continually review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Participate in the transformation of existing environments into high performing technology solutions.
  • Constantly search for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs, partly by capitalizing on emerging technologies and partly by adapting technologies to the needs of the customer
  • Provide technical leadership, clarity and direction for on-site resources and vendor teams. Ensures technical standards and architecture designs are adhered to.

Requirements
  • B.S. degree in a computer science, information technology, computer related discipline and 1zero+ years IT work experience in a global information technology infrastructure environment
  • 5+ years managing and leading teams in the dev-ops and cloud space
  • 5+ years vendor and contract management experience

 

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Extensive experience in managing teams providing service delivery across multiple platforms
  • Experience in web/cloud operation, administration and/or engineering with organizational leadership of large scale, global services
  • Expert knowledge of delivering, managing, and governing enterprise platforms
  • Well versed in tooling automation and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of highly available, performant and secure service delivery
  • Thorough understanding of networking concepts, Internet protocols and network security
  • Hands-on experience with modern container orchestration systems
  • Ability to identify and leverage cloud technology offerings where appropriate (Azure, Oracle Cloud)
  • Develops, documents, and enforces the platform and system standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity and security of all company assets
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and contract negotiation
  • Must understand how to identify and instill industry best practices.
  • Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language for end users.
  • Team Player with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills. The role requires significant interaction with many different teams across a global company.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a “ can do” attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges.
  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills
  • Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rdparties, and customers as needed

  • Proven experience in managing the design, development, and implementation of scalable software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
