Position: Business Intelligence Product Owner

The Product Owner has the overall responsibility of working with the Product Team and the customer to analyze existing and ideal system designs. The successful Product Owner develops understanding of business needs and effectively documents and communicates the needs to team members, so that Optima products continue to exceed customer expectations.

  • Gather and assess business goals, customer feedback, and collaborates with the Marketing team to formulate product features, functions and requirements which offer competitive advantage
  • Responsible for defining value for product deliverables and communicating to the team in a manner that sparks innovative thought
  • Understands the product strategy and product scope (roadmap)
  • Organizes product delivery
  • Defines the acceptance criteria for user stories and executes acceptance testing
  • Accepts/rejects the delivered work from within each Sprint
  • Communicate portfolio and project updates to managers & stakeholders
  • Actively participate in daily scrum meetings, project status meetings, sprint planning
  • Continuously prioritizes incoming business and customer requests for release planning
  • Developing Product expertise for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops an understanding of the target market and user base, and contributes to product decisions
  • Recommends additional products and capabilities to enhance and expand a product line to meet strategic business objectives
  • Triage and work with development teams to resolve product issues
  • Ensure documentation is updated and maintained

  • 3-5 years of experience facilitating product feature or requirements development – gathering input to formulate product features, functions and requirements with clients and/or end-users
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in an Agile, Scaled Agile or Scrum development environment
  • Experience writing Agile user stories
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand the IT landscape and its limitations and possibilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and respond to new requests
  • Professional demeanor, comfortable in client-facing role
  • Team player, detail oriented
  • Experience with SaaS solutions
