IT Project Manager - Dallas, Texas

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects on time and on budget. Managing resources, schedules, scope and financials, the Project Manager will oversee multiple projects ensuring top quality deliverables while adhering to and expanding the use of SDLC and project management methodology. Oversight of change requests, projects risks/issues, facilitating steering meetings, and ensuring appropriate documentation and stakeholder communication are crucial responsibilities of this role.


• Manage a portfolio of initiatives that span multiple lines of business and delivery areas

• Work with assigned project teams that span many disciplines (data, development, QA, business stakeholders, etc.) and ensure all members of project teams are in synch with a keen delivery of project delivery

• Apply a disciplined approach to project oversight adhering to well defined and documented processes and best practices and working within the established project management best practices

• Participate in scope creation to ensure implementation not only achieves business objectives, but enhances operational workflow and supports underlying infrastructure and security requirements

• Provide detailed status reporting regarding milestones, delivery, risks, issues, etc. and communicating these to project management team and IT/OPS senior leadership

• Demonstrated experience in delivery complex projects in a complex environment on time and on budget • In depth knowledge of SDLC and development methodologies • Demonstrated ability to influence those without a direct reporting relationship across all levels of the organization • Highly detailed with an uncanny ability to problem solve leveraging both creative and deeply analytical solutions • Experience working in an evolutionary PMO promoting best practices and demonstrating how those best practices enhance project delivery • Outstanding communication ability to all levels of the organization
• Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, working independently or as part of a team providing advice and counsel to peers • Expertise designing, implementing, modifying, (e.g. Six Sigma) processes and proven ability to influence behavior without having reporting authority • Proficiency in managing projects with internal, external or a hybrid application development and QA processes leveraging vendor applications and/or resources

• Bachelor’ s degree in IT related field preferred • Significant experience in commercial insurance with exposure to multiple distribution channels and the nuances they bring • 5+ years’ experience in project management discipline with increasing responsibilities • Advanced proficiency with JIRA, MS Project, MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SQL, etc. • ITIL and/or PMP certification preferred, Six Sigma certification a plus
