DevOps Engineer - Dallas, Texas


  • Ensure 24x7 availability of SaaS services
  • Participate in on call rotation
  • Contribute in the different phases of the Agile based SDLC
  • Participate as a full member of the development team, taking part in

Scrum meetings providing timely inputs on infrastructure, scalability, monitoring, operational process, infrastructure efficiency and release process
  • Leverage and extend a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is preferred, but cloud experience is required)
  • Implement security best practices to harden systems in the earliest stages of development
  • Evangelize scalable operational practices and create automation to  enforce these ideals
  • Create and maintain operational run books
  • Develop scripts to automate and simplify day to day operational tasks
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements and refinements of application and  infrastructure monitoring
  • Mentor and provide guidance to DevOps Engineer and provide support to the DevOps Manager as needed
  • Provide backup to the Site Reliability Manager in day to day team functions

  • Bachelor’ s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of overall experience
  • Must have demonstrated hands-on experience managing SaaS products and platforms
  • Strong understanding of Red Hat Linux, web servers (Apache, Nginx), Application servers (JBOSS, Tomcat), and Relation Databases.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and platform software tools (Ansible, Docker, Jenkins etc).
  • Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services cloud-based platform
  • Strong knowledge of data center networking (including load balancers and VPN)
  • Strong emphasis on security best practices and incident response
  • Strong knowledge of release management.
  • Good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices (Agile/Scrum)
