Software  IT Technical Project Manager

In this position, you will have the opportunity to build and customize  project management system for our client. You will build,  enhance, and customize modules to user specifications with state-of-the-art design while working with other developers on the team. This position requires a high degree of skill and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

Essential Functions:
  • Allocate project resources to ensure time and cost compliance and meet with clients to resolve ongoing development issues.
  • Lead and manage full life cycle project development.
  • Lead system and database design meetings.
  • Develop work around plans, schedule recovery plans and baseline the project as necessary.
  • During applications development, provide high-end features:  performance tuning, troubleshooting, and real time data replication across multiple servers.
  • Estimate technical complexities, feasibility, cost, efforts & implementation time frames of projects. 
  • Participate in project solutions within the system development life cycle through brainstorming sessions with IT Team.
  • Participate in design meetings and recommendations in assessing IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications.
  • Work with end users to determine system requirements and updates.
  • Perform quality control on all products and deliverables to ensure product releases are fully documented based on industry best practices and SDLC methodology being utilized.
  • Support concurrent initiatives specific to infrastructure and software development.
  • Support the installation of software components in testing and production environments.
  • Maintain comprehensive testing plans, provide test results, and recommends corrections to senior developers.
  • Participate in meetings with the IT team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress.
  • Support end-to-end project plans and ensuring timely delivery, issue escalation/reporting.
  • Assist in other reasonable IT tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Competencies
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including, planning, scheduling, budgeting, issues and risk management and personnel management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilizes resources, identify and resolve problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing software development projects using Agile Methodology
  • Knowledge of FISMA compliance process
  • Possesses Business and IT strategy and server/domain management experience
  • Experience in government pre and post-award tracking system is highly desirable
  • Preferably possesses technical knowledge or has experience with multiple technologies including Oracle, Weblogic, JDeveloper, Redhat Linux, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket(GIT)) and AWS

Education/Experience:
  • 6+ years of development experience
  • BS Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field,
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in IT, software development or related field.
  • Must have five years of experience in Software Development project management
  • Experience working on government site prefer
  • PMP certification prefer
