The position of Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing – North America will lead the strategic identification, development, and execution of the strategic sourcing operation that works across organizational lines. This role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on strategic sourcing cost savings, develop projects through detailed technical and financial negotiations, contract management, supplier relationship development, and develop systems and tools while maintaining quality and safety. This important leadership position collaborates with all Senior Leaders to advance the company' s strategic sourcing processes in order to meet company goals

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the North America Region annual spend of $276m and CapEx of $55m which includes the expense for vehicles, air/ocean and 3rd party freight, other equipment cost, building expense, office and administration, consulting and professional, and IT.
  • Plan, execute, track, and report strategic sourcing projects generating savings in cost/quality/service sourcing strategies with operations and senior leadership with current and future demand forecasts in complete alignment with the Global direction set and established by Client’ s Global Strategic sourcing in alignment with Global Regional and Country Strategic sourcing targets
  • Provide strategic sourcing project leadership and support to achieve assigned Global, Regional, Country savings initiatives
  • Monitor progress against all North America strategic sourcing initiatives, specific country cost savings initiatives providing improvement plan support and updates to senior leadership on emerging opportunities/risks
  • Partner with vendors to establish volume agreements that take advantage of economies of scale and leverage the purchasing power of the Company on a Global, Regional, and local level. Support and drive the integration of Global suppliers and contracts within the North American region
  • Resolve problems with contract interpretation and vendor performance as compared to terms and conditions working collaboratively with stakeholders, business partners and the Global Strategic sourcing team
  • Ensure that inventory control, required reporting, accounting, contractual, and Legal standards are maintained.
  • Standardize products, services, and Fleet vehicles purchased through vendors to simplify the operations TCO, gain economies of scale with vendors and promote globalization
  • Special projects, technical projects, and other associated duties to support the region and the Global Strategic sourcing Office, as assigned

Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive strategic sourcing experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading strategic sourcing teams
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • Experienced executive leadership
  • Advanced strategic sourcing, supply chain, distribution, and logistics competence
  • Advanced project management, negotiation, contractual skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the RFI / RFP, and electronic tendering process
  • Advanced experience driving KPI performance vs. targets
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Ability to influence across business and departmental lines
  • Ability to negotiate at the executive level
  • Strong consultative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality of information when required
  • Self-motivated, determined, and able to work under own initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
