Sr. Director, Strategy Planning and Analysis - Dallas, Texas

The Senior Director has responsibility for managing a broad range of corporate strategy and commercial planning functions as well as performance analysis for all commercial, marketing, and digital activities. The Sr Director is a key contributor and thought leader to the division’ s plans and functions as a business partner and critical resource. He/she will lead all product planning & execution by working cross functionally to deliver best in class customer products. He/she will also lead all corporate strategy projects such as major invest/divest decisions to support senior leadership in corporate direction setting, including all external consultant reviews and support of executing delivery of review recommendations. This role will also educate colleagues on business drivers, create a culture that makes the impact of the business division on the bottom line visible

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for developing all company-wide strategic plans, 5 Yr Plan, and Board of Directors presentations.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to shape the future strategic direction of the company and to develop new ideas from concept to implementation.
  • Ongoing competitor benchmarking and reporting including developing and implementing competitive response strategies
  • Support leadership team on any adhoc projects that may arise in the course of business including long term highly confidential projects with only small groups of involved team members.
  • Manage the commercial planning and execution program
  • Responsibilities include managing the program covering many projects and programs that will touch and impact many, if not all, parts of the business.
  • Lead a team of customer insights, marketing performance, and digital performance analysts to support all performance measurement and research across the commercial team
  • Lead and manage all Salesforce – Service projects with in operations, commercial, call center, etc to drive the most out of the investment in the salesforce capability – these projects will be closely aligned with service design projects

Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience with commercial and financial functions
  • Management consulting or commercial planning experience required
  • Experience managing multiple functions and projects, as well a strategic development
  • Background in transportation, retail or consumer packaged goods industries a plus
  • Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, capital budget and expense management, modeling, systems, reporting, strategic visioning, development and execution of commercial business plans
  • Experience in leading and driving cross functional teams and partnerships within an organization
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing process and experience improvement for customer experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Essbase, JD Edwards financial systems, and Hyperion highly desirable (VP can teach this.)
  • Analytic thinker; able to visualize divisional objectives and evaluate alternative approaches to their achievement

  • This role will be responsible for managing all commercial planning activity with budgeted revenue growth or customer experience growth targets.
  • Oversight of several high potential analysts and innovation leads.
  • Will have responsibility for all competitor bench marking, analysis, and response strategies
  • Will develop full reporting and attribution modeling for entire commercial investment in advertising, CRM, loyalty, and digital channels
  • Execution of business review recommendations from outside consultants will require a high degree of maturity and capability in regards to change management and soft people skills.
