Our client is looking to add a Sr. Manager of Search Marketing to their Marketing organization which serves 7 different brands and is rooted in analytics, experimentation, and the test-and-learn approach. Our organization includes strategists, digital marketers, media buyers, analysts and data scientists, market researchers. This is the rare opportunity to come in at the ground level and help shape how a sizable company does performance marketing.

In this role, you will oversee Search marketing across multiple brands, with direct impact on the P&L. You will manage a team of channel managers and analysts, both internal and agency, that drive our Search marketing channels.

You will spend your time:
  • Developing, implementing and continuously evolving best practices for search marketing, including Paid Search, SEO and Metasearch
  • Establishing cross-departmental processes to ensure that search marketing is executed in support of brand strategy and in accordance with best practice
  • Identifying and implementing best practices for ROI measurement
  • Helping to set appropriate KPIs for search marketing and ensuring that targets are met or exceeded for all brands
  • Developing and implementing strategies to align bidding across multiple brands
  • Building and implementing search innovation and test-and-learn roadmaps
  • Designing and overseeing execution of test frameworks to support search marketing performance optimization
  • Partnering with analysts and data scientists to dive deep into performance data and build new models to support optimization and growth efforts
  • Working with Google, Bing and Metasearch representatives to gain deep understanding of new and existing product offerings and brainstorm new approaches and strategies
  • Working in Google Ads, Bing AdCenter, Google Search Ads 360, and Google Analytics 360
  • Vetting and introducing new tools and partnerships to support campaign optimization efforts
  • Building and managing a best-in-class Search Marketing team consisting of both ALG employees and agency partners
  • Contributing thought leadership to drive overall Performance Marketing and brand growth efforts, including making budget allocation and omnichannel strategy recommendations
  • Staying informed about industry developments and quickly incorporating new best practices
  • Working in a collaborative team environment to consistently exceed expectations

The candidate

We are looking for you if you have:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in an analytical field, Master’ s degree preferred
  • At least 4-8 years of hands-on Paid Search experience in a cutting-edge environment, either at a top performing digital agency or in a large e-commerce business
  • Proven record (at least 2 years of experience) of hiring and building high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage digital marketing agencies
  • Significant experience designing optimal SEM account structures, launching SEM campaigns, writing effective ad copy, conducting keyword and competitor research, optimizing bids and modifiers, analyzing and managing performance
  • Experience with A/B testing and landing page optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Google and Bing search ads products and performance optimization opportunities
  • Significant experience with Google Ads, Bing AdCenter, Google Search Ads 360, Google Analytics 360
  • Experience developing budget recommendations, forecasting and controlling spend
  • Ability to manage multiple brands and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical mindset, strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization

Strong candidates will also have:
  • SEO and Metasearch experience
  • Strong grasp of SQL and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with multi-touch attribution
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery
  • Familiarity with Adobe Omniture
  • Experience with landing page optimization
