Job Description


Position: Staff Software Engineer, Solo (2 spots)

Location: Alpharetta, GA

 

We’ re looking for dynamic, motivated developers that want to make a difference in people’ s lives. Your primary focus will be developing client side JavaScript UI components and applications using the React framework. You will ensure that these components and applications are robust and easy to maintain. A secondary aspect will be development and maintenance of server-side web services using PHP and other languages, including some database interface code. You will coordinate with teammates working on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to collaborative problem solving and quality product is a must.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Thorough understanding of React framework
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Familiarity / experience with PHP and other service-side scripting languages, and web services
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Experienced in Agile software development

Responsibilities
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Optimizing components for performance across a variety of web-capable devices and browsers
  • Provide technical oversight, conduct code reviews
  • Support, maintain, document and write unit tests for software
  • Work under general supervision on complex projects with latitude for independent judgment
  • Assist less experienced teammates, as needed
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation

Qualifications
  • Typically requires 5 to 10 years of experience
  • 4 year degree or equivalent
  • English-language written and spoken communication skills
