Job Description

  • Troubleshoot efficiently and determine whether an issue is server related or application related.
  • Learn new software technologies fairly quickly with very little documentation.
  • Develop documentation around installing, configuring, maintaining, and decommissioning software.
  • Install new software versions and patches ensuring correct system configuration and operation
  • Partner with Systems and Database engineers
  • Provide expert level advisement on architectural and process design for Control-M batch automation.
  • Develop and publish procedures, including “ run book” instructions, work flows, and architectural drawings
  • Participate in the development and documenting of departmental guidelines and standards for service delivery and scheduling methodologies
  • Participate in the system integration testing and the parallel application testing as it pertains to batch runs
  • Defines all batch automation and run book automation processes
  • Maintenance of batch automation and run book automation logs and reporting
  • Designs, implements and supports the ongoing process of batch automation routines including file transfers
  • Designs, implements and supports additions to existing batch automation and run book automation supported applications and services
  • Coordinates solutions to any scheduling issues and/or work flow issues, proactive or reactive to ensure documented service delivery commitments are met
  • Understand and educate teams on the Batch Scheduling process and scope
  • Investigation and troubleshoot failed jobs
  • Job schedule optimization
  • Responsible for analyzing existing and new processes and implementing more automation to increase productivity.


  • Experience in installing and configuring Control-M
  • Batch job scheduling experience
  • Proven ability and experience installing Control-M environment upgrades
  • Control-M Full client experience for job creation, job change, and job daily maintenance activities
  • Oracle RDBMS experience, The ability to manipulate data in Oracle using PL/SQL
  • The ability to read and understand a data model diagram
  • Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux and Windows
  • Experience with and understanding of Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase, Windows scheduler and CRON jobs
  • Windows Batch Scripting(PowerShell)
  • Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
  • Systems Engineering
  • Extensive knowledge using and administering BMC Control-M
  • Command Line Scheduling and Group Scheduling
  • Distributed Systems Support and Infrastructure Design / Implementation
  • 2yrs Client-Server Application experience
  • Experience with debugging tools (i.e. filemon, regmon, perfmon)
  • Should possess technical proficiency with network and server configuration and management
  • Demonstrable proficiency with business productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
