Vulnerability Management Analyst

Location: Atlanta

 

The vulnerability management team analyst plays a lead role on the team that will scan, monitor, and plan remediation of security vulnerabilities, on a global scale with an emphasis on critical functions targeted by adversaries. What will you be doing? The vulnerability management team hunts for and prioritized vulnerabilities that could lead to a breach of confidentiality, integrity or availability of sensitive information. The Senior vulnerability analyst collaborates with his/her peers in the Information Security Office, the company' s asset owners, and other company IT staff to improve the company' s information security posture and reduce the likelihood of a disruptive cybersecurity event.

 

Responsibilities:

• Managing the security vulnerability lifecycle from detection through notification and closure.

• Conduct scheduled and ad hoc application and system scans, researching and analyzing vulnerabilities, identifying relevant threats, corrective action recommendations, summarizing and communicate findings effectively

• Monitor team mailbox and ticketing system to ensure proper steps are taken for all identified vulnerabilities and support of the security operations center (SOC)

• Perform research and analysis of scheduled and on demand cloud vulnerability assessments and post results

• Maintaining core body of knowledge relating to emerging cloud security risks and vulnerabilities.

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

 

Qualifications:

• Some experience working in cybersecurity or information security

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Ability to explain and quantify the risk of vulnerabilities to a non-technical audience

• Demonstrated experience with at least one scripting or object-oriented programming languages, such as PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.

• Familiarity with creating complex queries. Splunk or SQL preferred

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

• The personality traits, work habits, and social skills necessary to work effectively within a dynamic and highly operational broadcast environment

• Experience working with JSON and/or XML preferred
